39. Heroic Public Speaking

1. BLUF

  • What’s your ‘big idea?”

  • We all can improve our public speaking skills.

  • Afterall, strategy & communications go hand in hand.

2. Heroic Public Speaking

Do you consider yourself a public speaker?

Well, if you’ve ever led a team meeting, briefed a PPT, or delivered a sales pitch – then you are a public speaker.

You may not deliver keynotes or travel on the speaking circuit…

But if you’ve…

interviewed for a job,

brought on a new client,

or translated your team’s vision into reality –

You are a public speaker.

The biggest part of a successful strategy is implementation.

And people can’t implement what isn’t clear.

Whether you’re a solopreneur or lead a team, public speaking skills are critical to success.

That’s why I recently spent two days in beautiful Lambertville, New Jersey with Heroic Public Speaking.

I took this photo in the middle of the Delaware River on the PA-NJ border.

The training was incredible. Everything from making your “big idea” crystal clear to creating content to how we use our voice & bodies as we speak.

The group in the room was delightful - entrepreneurs, small business leaders, corporate leaders, veterans, journalists, authors, and more.

It was so fun to be together in-person, sharing ideas, & learning.

When my kids heard what I was doing one said, “But mom, you already know how to talk.” (Touché)

“Yes,” I responded. “But consider soccer. You already know how to play, yet you practice to improve for game day.”

We can all become better public speakers.

And we must.

Afterall, strategy & communication go hand and hand.

3. Application

So, what does it look like for your business?

  • Are your strategy & comms united?

  • How do you use engage – teams, investors, clients, and more?

  • What is one thing you can do today to drive greater clarity?

To your success,

~Susan
