In 2005, when asked about his favorite ring, then 3-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady answered..
...the next one.
Even after all of these wins he was searching for more.
Interestingly, in 2021, after 7 Super Bowl wins, his answer remained consistent.
As we launch 2024, it's tempting to forget all of our hard work and accomplishments from 2023 and before, striving for more --- the next one.
A new P&L.
The start of a new quarter.
Shiny new goals & targets.
Sigh. Here we go again.
Please let me affirm - goals are good.
But what if we take a moment to pause & ask - what's really needed this year?
If it's another Super Bowl win, more power to you.
However, some years in business are for maintenance, rebuilding, or to pivot.
This may not sound as alluring as "10X your revenue in 6 weeks!"
...but it is a reality for many organizations.
Over just the past week, I've heard echoes of this in several discussions:
Rebuild: A small business owner of 8-years rebuilding after the pipeline dried up during maternity leave.
